Support
Most things are quicker to fix from inside the app, because it can read the real state of your phone. Start there — and if that doesn’t do it, email a human.
In the app: Settings → Help & feedback → Send feedback. Attaching diagnostics fills in your device, Android version and protection health more accurately than retyping them. You get a reference id — keep it to follow up, or to ask us to delete the message. "Report a wrong block" is a separate flow that never leaves your phone.
Email: [email protected]
Tell us your phone model and Android version, and what protection health says. We can’t see your device, your browsing or your rules — so the more you can describe, the faster this goes.
Protection stopped running
Open Protect in the app. Protection health reads the live state of every permission OwnHour needs and names the one that broke, with a fix. It never shows a green tick it can’t back up.
If protection pauses unexpectedly, it is almost always Android saving battery. The three usual culprits:
- Battery optimisation — set OwnHour to unrestricted battery use so the system can’t pause it.
- Autostart and background activity — some manufacturers stop background services by default. Allow OwnHour to run in the background.
- Recents — lock OwnHour in your recent-apps list so clearing recents doesn’t clear it.
The app’s Troubleshooting screen walks through these with the wording your specific phone uses. It only ever reports on services and permissions — never on what you browse.
Billing, trials and refunds
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Google Play, so they live in your Play account rather than in an OwnHour account.
- Manage or cancel a subscription at Google Play subscriptions.
- Refunds follow Google Play’s refund policy.
- Free trials are for new customers only. Play shows your exact price, trial length and renewal terms before you confirm.
If a purchase went through but Pro didn’t unlock, open Settings → Account and restore purchases. If it still doesn’t appear, email us with the Play order number.
Accountability partners
Partners use the partner portal — there’s nothing for them to install and they never pay. A partner sees the requests you route to them and whether they approved. They do not see your browsing, your app list or your location.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from Settings → Account in the app. If you can’t reach the app, use the web route at ownhour.app/delete-account.
